A laureate at many international competitions, Colburn alumna and pianist Jun Asai returns in a program featuring three great works from the 19th century. Opening the program will be Beethoven’s “Moonlight” sonata (a title originating not from the composer himself but from the German poet Ludwig Rellstab), followed by Chopin’s Preludes, traversing the gamut of all 24 keys. Rounding out the program will be Balakirev’s Islamey, a pianistic tour de force, inspired by the composer’s visits to the Caucasus region and its colorful folk music. This recital is sponsored by Davar Church, where she currently serves as Music Director.

[プロフィール]
浅井 純：L.A.フィルハーモニック、Glendale フィルハーモニック、Fort Worth シンフォニー、Utah シンフォ ニー、名古屋フィルハーモニック、上海フィルハーモニックとの共演とともに、 数多くの受賞経験を持つ(L.A. フィル Kaper賞、米国ショパンコンクール、上海国際コンクール、Joanna Hodges 国際コンクール、Bachuer 国際コンクール、 New Orleans国際コンクール、Città di Cantù国際コンクールなど)。これまでに、Eduardo Delgado、Daniel Pollack 、Yoheved Kaplinsky、Leon Fleisher などに師事し、さらにマスタークラスにて、John O’Conor、 Arie Vardi, Mikhail Voskressensky、Nelita True などからも教えを受ける。2002 年には、ニューヨークのカーネーギー・ホール(Weill Hall)にてデビューコンサートを 持ったほか、米国教育テレビ番組「音楽の出会い(Musical Encounter)」にも何度か出演、さらに映画「スニーカーズ」(ロバート・レッドフォード主演)に て神童ピアニストとして出演。オクラホマ州タルサ市にて生まれ、3才よりピアノを習い始め、その後、カルフォルニア州パサディナにある音楽学校 (Pasadena Conservatory of Music)、またロサンジェルスの Colburn 音楽学校でピアノ、及び作曲を学ぶ。15才でニューヨークの Julliard School に入学し、 2004年修士号を得、現在、Leon Fleisherの指導の下、博士課程で学ぶ。11才の時より、教会でのピアニストとして賛美の伴奏を務め、教会での音楽部門の様々な活動に携わってきた。パサディナ市にあ るダヴァール教会の音楽ディレクターも務める。
